Bespoke Iwate Tour January 2025

With Great snow comes great times.

Quick dash into Tokyo to pick up our fearless travellers. Tokyo is always fun, especially if it’s your first time there. The buildings are tall, streets are busy, and the views from the hotel are breathtaking. Views across the concrete jungle.

A short stay is all that is needed. Quick Look around a few sights then on a train, to Morioka, the capital of Iwate prefecture. Morioka has a population of around 200,000 people. So eateries are a plenty and nice business hotels. The city besides that doesn’t offer much, but has access to some of the best skiing in the area. Each day we wake, caffeinate and head to one of 6 resorts all within an hour of our HQ

Iwate skiing is filled with great spaced trees, easy small adventure hikes and light powder. Queues are rare, lift tickets are cheap. Powder is plenty full and so are smiling faces.

Onsens are always a must while we are on tour, and our hotel provided many a soaks after a hard days skiing. The odd sauna and cold plunge were also on the cards.

Very happy people, guides and clients alike. Thanks to the B-Boys and the Moodys. A good chicken joke over a good whiskey will always be remembered.
